Meet Jaime and Gina Ojeda

Both were inspired by the famous Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci to start practicing recreational and later competing in gymnastics at Chihuahua’s local YMCA gymnastics program under one of the most recognized pioneers, Professor Manuel Perez Jasso, who brought the new gymnastics techniques to the city of Chihuahua.

Professor Perez-Jasso saw Jaime’s potential and passion for gymnastics, so he took Jaime to Caravan of Camps Summer Gymnastics Camps in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to begin training with experienced coaches from around the United States.

Jaime has worked in numerous U. S. cities and has met renowned international gymnasts who have helped him grow and improve his gymnastics techniques.

Bela Karoly, Svetlana Boginskaya, and Ana Smirnova, to mention a few, have been some of his mentors.

In the meantime, Gina retired as a gymnast and was trained to be a coach and judge by a Mexican National coach. Gina’s gymnastics team, level 4, was the Mexican national champion before she married Jaime and moved to Enid, Oklahoma, where they worked as directors of a local gym, which they bought and changed the name to Infinity Gymnastics Club in 1993.

Oklahoma’s gymnastics community was a wonderful experience for Jaime and Gina as they learned to navigate competitions, manage a gymnastics school, and parenthood. (Andres and Sofia were born).

Family circumstances moved Infinity to El Paso, Texas, in 2000. Jaime and Gina have never regretted it, as El Paso always showed a welcoming environment towards them. (The third child, Diana, was born).

Jaime and Gina’s three children shared a love for gymnastics as they were also competitive gymnasts. Now, as young adults, they also help in the family business or continue to be involved in the beautiful sport of gymnastics.

Infinity Gymnastics Club has proudly produced Oklahoma boys’ and girls’ National gymnasts and compulsory state girls’ champions. In addition, IGC is the only gym in El Paso with qualified gymnasts in Levels 9-10 for the National Championships, and it has placed a gymnast at Wisconsin University to pursue college gymnastics.

1. How did Infinity Gymnastics Club get started?

Infinity Gymnastics Club began with a passion for the sport and a dream. Founders Jaime and Gina Ojeda were inspired by gymnastics legends and began training and coaching after years of competing and learning from top mentors. What started in Oklahoma grew into a family-run club when they moved to El Paso in 2000, bringing their love for gymnastics and community with them. Today, their family continues that legacy by helping students grow and achieve success both in gymnastics and in life.

2. What makes IGC different from other gymnastics programs?

At IGC, we believe in nurturing the whole athlete, not just their physical skills. Our mission is to provide a safe, positive, and fun environment where gymnasts can build confidence, make lasting memories, and discover just how far they can go. Whether a child is just starting or training for national competition, we focus on growth, balance, dedication, and joy both in and out of the gym.

3. What kind of community can families expect at Infinity?

IGC is more than a gym, it’s a supportive family. Coaches celebrate every success, big or small, and work closely with students to help them reach their goals. Many gymnasts form friendships that last a lifetime, and families often become part of the IGC community for years as children grow through recreational classes into competitive levels.
