Over the years, IGC has become a leader in the competitive women’s gymnastics landscape by focusing on proper progressions, athlete development, and a positive team environment. Our competitive program is designed to take young gymnasts from their first cartwheel to standing confidently on the competition floor, ready to shine.
Competitive women’s gymnastics at IGC starts with a strong foundation. Many of our athletes begin at an early age in our recreational classes, where they develop essential skills like strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance. Coaches carefully watch for young athletes who demonstrate the focus, work ethic, and love for gymnastics that can thrive in a competitive setting. Although some may start earlier than others, there are opportunities for every age to advance to competition.
From there, we invite these gymnasts into our pre-team level programs, which are specifically designed to bridge the gap between recreational gymnastics and full competitive training. During the basic levels, athletes begin learning the fundamental shapes, drills, and basic routines they’ll need for future success—all while still keeping the experience fun and age-appropriate.
